DENVER (AP) ? The Drive. The Fumble. And now, The Blink of an Eye.

With a quick flick of the wrist and a mad dash to the end zone, Tim Tebow, Demaryius Thomas and the Denver Broncos put a sudden end to their playoff game against Pittsburgh ? an 11-second throw, catch and run that accounted for the quickest overtime in NFL history.

On the first play of the extra period Sunday, Tebow threw a crossing pattern to Thomas, who stiff-armed Ike Taylor and won the race to the end zone for an 80-yard score that lifted the Broncos to a 29-23 playoff victory over the stunned Steelers.

All in 11 ticks of the clock ? the quickest overtime ever, regular season or playoffs.

It will be talked about for much longer, destined to earn a spot in Denver's colorful playoff history, somewhere up there with The Drive, The Fumble and the franchise's two Super Bowl titles.

John Elway, the quarterback who was around for those magic moments, was like every other Broncos fan for this one ? he could only watch and hope. When Thomas crossed the goal line, ol' No. 7 raised his arms and celebrated like a kid on the sideline.

And Tebow?

"When I saw him scoring, first of all, I just thought, 'Thank you, Lord,'" he said. "Then, I was running pretty fast, chasing him."

A few moments later, he was Tebowing in the end zone ? down on one knee, resting one hand against his forehead, while he punched his other fist in the turf. After that, he did victory laps and jumped into the stands at a stadium that has been thirsting for something special for a while now. Denver's last turn in the playoffs was the 2006 AFC title game, a 34-17 loss to the Steelers, five seasons before Tebow arrived.

And boy has this unorthodox, often divisive but very clutch quarterback made a difference.

"Definitely a special memory. One that will always be very special," Tebow said of his fourth overtime win of the season, against no losses.

The Tebow-to-Thomas connection denied fans a good look at the NFL's new postseason overtime rule. Under the new format, put into play for the first time in this game, each team was guaranteed a possession in overtime ? unless the team that gets the ball first scores a touchdown.

"They said, 'We're going to run this play, all you have to do is cross the safety's face,'" Thomas said. "I was walking to the line and saw the safety come down and I knew, at that time, the play we had called, the only person I had to beat was the corner."

After Denver's third straight loss last week in which Tebow threw for 60 yards and logged a quarterback rating of 20.8, Elway ? now the team's executive vice president of football operations ? urged him to be more aggressive with the ball. He wanted his quarterback to step up and take more chances ? run when he saw daylight, throw during that split second when he saw a receiver open.

Message received. Tebow did that all game, softening the Steelers with gains of 51, 58, 30 and 40 yards, all in the first half.

"I think it's just a mentality, being aggressive," Tebow said. "Whether it's in the pocket, when I was stepping up and I start to scramble ... or whether it's when I'm stepping up and giving a receiver an opportunity on a deep ball."

Though the Steelers rallied from a 14-point deficit in the second half, Tebow, Thomas and the rest kept their defense off-balance most of the game. They were clearly caught unaware on first-and-10 from the 20 when Tebow took the snap and safety Ryan Mundy bit on the quarterback's play-action fake and charged toward the line. That left Thomas in the man-to-man coverage against Taylor he knew he was going to get.

After catching the ball and shedding Taylor, Thomas had only Mundy to beat to the goal line.

"We knew they were capable of big plays," Mundy said. "They didn't make the playoffs for no reason."

They're moving on in the playoffs, as well. Thanks to the first play of overtime. Which also turned out to be the last.

Girl, 16, close to completing solo sail around the world

Laura Dekker, a 16-year-old Dutch sailor, is just days away from becoming the youngest person to ever sail around the globe. Now on day 509 of her solo voyage, Dekker estimates in a blog post Wednesday that she will reach the Caribbean island of St. Maarten in the next 12 days. She left the island in January 2011, after first sailing across the Atlantic from Portugal.

?I am looking forward to my arrival and officially end my journey even though I feel like I already accomplished what I had set out to do a long time ago,? Dekker writes. ?I have learned very much about myself along the way and I also have learned very much from all the different places and the many different people that I came in contact with in so many different countries.?

Even though the journey has been a long one, Dekker writes that it?s gone by too fast for her and her yacht, Guppy. While she may be looking forward to her arrival, she is not looking forward to the media that will be waiting for her.

?Everything will abruptly change soon as we will come under the media limelight. I am so glad that I still have 12 more days on the Atlantic Ocean before that time comes because that part never appeared in any of my dreams."

Dekker called the journey a ?dream come true? when she spoke via satellite phone with a Belgian radio station Friday, revealing that she is also considering a move to New Zealand after she completes her trip, which began in 2010 with the solo sail from Portugal to St. Maarten.

At only 16, her voyage has not been without controversy. When a 14-year-old Dekker first announced her plans to circumnavigate the globe solo, a Dutch court blocked her from going. She was required to take a first aid course and make adjustments to her boat before receiving the go-ahead. In a blog post from July 29, 2010, Dekker expressed her enthusiasm for finally planning her voyage.

PIMCO'S Gross says "demise" of bond fund exaggerated (Reuters)

NEW YORK (Reuters)- Bill Gross, the manager of the world's largest bond fund, said on Wednesday that the "demise" of PIMCO's flagship fund is exaggerated.

In an interview on CNBC, Gross said too much attention had been paid to the $5 billion of net outflows from the Total Return Fund (PTTRX.O) in 2011.

Gross, who shares the title of co-chief investment officer with Mohamed El-Erian, said the cash outflow is negligible given that the fund ended the year with assets of $244 billion.

Last year was the first in its history that the Total Return Fund had seen net redemptions. The redemptions came as the fund returned about 4.1 percent for the year, lagging the benchmark fixed income index. The Barclays Aggregate Bond Index posted returns of 7.8 percent last year.

Gross also said he sees the Federal Reserve keeping rates at ultra-low levels for the next three to four years.

Pacific Investment Management Company, or PIMCO, oversees more than $1.3 trillion, mostly in fixed income assets.

Syracuse coach's accuser admits molesting teen boy

PORTLAND, Maine (AP) ? A man who accused former Syracuse University assistant basketball coach Bernie Fine of molesting him admitted Monday that he sexually abused a boy in Maine.

Zach Tomaselli, of Lewiston, told The Associated Press that he sexually abused the boy when the victim was 13 and 14 years old. Tomaselli said he knew the boy and worked as a counselor at a camp the boy attended.

Now that he's getting counseling, Tomaselli said he understands that he was subconsciously grooming the boy for a relationship, as is often the case with pedophiles. He said he's glad that he was caught before the abuse became worse, so that he can get help.

Tomaselli, 23, became the third man to level sexual abuse allegations against Fine when he told police in Syracuse that Fine first molested him in a Pittsburgh hotel room in 2002. He said Fine ? who has denied any wrongdoing but was fired by the university ? showed him porn, fondled him and watched him shower naked.

"The only thing that transpired was the same stuff that happened to me," Tomaselli said of his relationship with the teenage boy in Maine. "This kid has been through a lot because of the way I controlled him and abused him."

Tomaselli has pleaded not guilty to 11 charges including gross sexual assault, tampering with a victim and unlawful sexual contact.

But he said he anticipates that he'll plead guilty in Superior Court and that a plea bargain is in the works. The plea bargain calls for him to serve three years, or perhaps less, in prison and to register as a sex offender for life, he said.

"I don't really see any other way at this point," he said.

Tomaselli's lawyer went to court last week seeking to suppress his confession to police. Defense lawyer Justin Leary said the confession was coerced by a detective after a lengthy interview, and the judge hadn't ruled on the motion as of Monday.

On Monday, Tomaselli said he was "sick of hiding behind my attorney."

Leary declined comment Monday evening on his client's comments to the AP.

Tomaselli also has said that he was abused by his father, Fred Tomaselli, and that he went to police about it in June in upstate New York. No charges were filed, and Fred Tomaselli said the allegations were "totally unfounded."

On Monday, Zach Tomaselli said he's taking responsibility and doesn't want to blame Fine or his father for his actions in Lewiston, where he lives with his grandmother.

Tomaselli said he and the victim disagree on some details but most of the accusations were true. He said he fondled the boy once when the boy was 13 and a couple more times when he was 14.

"Pretty much everything he said is absolutely right," Tomaselli said.

Tomaselli said the relationship was consensual and there were no threats.

He acknowledged, however, that he created a fake Facebook account to manipulate the victim and that he even allowed the victim to believe the Facebook friend died of cancer. He said his judgment was hampered by a powerful narcotic, Oxycodone, which he said he was taking for severe headaches.

"It's unreal the stuff I did," Tomaselli said. "I'm going to get better from this. I'm going to get counseling."
